Dr. Zaid Al-Mulla is a board certified, experienced Pediatrician. “I believe in providing high quality, caring, efficient and friendly service to my patients and their families, helping parents in caring for their children”.
Dr. Al-Mulla studied medicine at the University of Kuwait where he grew up. He finished his pediatric residency training at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida in 1994, and did one year of fellowship training in neonatology. He then practiced and taught pediatrics as faculty member of the division of General Pediatrics at the University of Florida.
In 1999 he moved to Portland and served as Staff Pediatrician and Medical Director at Legacy Clinics, Legacy Health Systems for five years.
In May 2004 he started Horizon Pediatrics, PC Clinic to provide Health Services to Infants, Children and Adolescents in Tigard and the General Portland Metro Area. He is a Staff Physician at Providence St, Vincent Hospital and at Legacy Hospitals, Emanuel, Good Samaritan and Meridian Park.
His wife, Eman Lutfi, MD, is a general pediatrician also, and they have two children. Their daughter Zina was born in 1995 and son Ramzy in 1999.
Native Oregonian, Sarah Wiechec, has always had a natural gift when it comes to taking care of kids. She worked as a nanny for four years before deciding to attend medical assisting school at Pioneer Pacific College where she earned her Associates of Science in Medical Assisting in 2000. Sarah worked with Dr. Al-Mulla at Legacy Emanuel Pediatric Clinic for two years and helped him open Horizon Pediatrics in May of 2004. She is currently attending Concordia University working towards a B.S. degree in healthcare administration.
Sarah lives with her husband of one and a half years, Ernest Tischhauser, in Tigard with their two, ever so spoiled four-legged children: Mabel and Mixer. Sarah’s love for children, warm smile, playful nature, compassionate heart, and her ability to communicate with kids of all ages makes visiting Horizon Pediatrics a pleasant experience for the whole family.

Native Oregonian, Chrissy Wiechec’s smiling face will probably be the first you see as you enter the clinic. Chrissy’s excellent customer service skills will ensure your visit with us is most pleasurable. Chrissy has many interests in her life including; dancing, music, yoga, cooking and playing with Sarah her little four-legged niece and nephew (Sarah’s Doggies). Chrissy is considering pursuing a career in nursing, with her kind and caring nature this will be a great fit.
If you see Chrissy observing when your child is being seen it is because she is very eager to learn about medicine; you never know—med school is always an option!
